Grand Opening of the Nines Hotel, 2008
Portland's jewel box boutique hotel opened with a glittering gala that showcased all the best features of the renovated edifice. The
lofty atrium held a silver balloon trailing a sinuous aerialist who wafted like a dream under the untethered orb. The elegant ballroom
inspired dancers as Pink Martini oozed glamour. Meeting rooms were transformed into a velvet dark absinthe bar where guests flirted
under feather-trimmed boudoir lamps, and the custom-printed cocktail
napkins made stylish souvenirs. Produced in collaboration with Cindy Thompson Event Productions.

Wordstock: Portland's Book Festival, annually 2004 to 2010
This tremendously successful six-day book festival includes a teacher's conference, workshops led by internationally acclaimed authors, a series of lectures, a night of private fundraising and a two-day Book Fair with 12 stages. During the Fair 200 vendors and publishers fill the Hall while three main stages and nine smaller stages feature revolving presentations of readings, panels, and discussions. The event is supported by a small army of several hundred volunteers. 25,000+ attend the annual Festival, which benefits Community of Writers.

Beaux Arts Ball for the Young Patrons of the Portland Art Museum, "ICON: Come as You Art," 2010
This extravagant event featured the Tubular Bar, two stories of white fur serving Signature Cocktails down clear tubes to glasses waiting below. Three Cabana Clubhouses in the center of the ballroom, each on a raised platform, offered themed lounge furniture bathed in super-flattering light, a doorman, bar, and cocktail server

60th Birthday Extravaganza, 2010
An extraordinary two-act surprise birthday party for a traveling Manhattan couple. Act 1 began with a limo ride to the Mt. Hood wilderness area, where a guided tour of the wild beauty and edible plants was followed by a chef-prepared lunch of Pacific Coast delights. Act 2 took place after hours at the Oregon Zoo with a private curated tour of the tigers, rhino, hippos and elephants. Doug Fir martinis were served in the lounge section of the clear-top canopy on the main lawn. A 17-course dinner followed in the formal all-white dining room under a chandelier.

TriMet WES Stakeholder Celebration, "It's WES Time!," 2009
A celebratory reception for partners, stakeholders and local officials held in the train's maintenance facility. Bright bunting transformed the "shed" and in the center a new train car was available for boarding. A three-piece band played on a raised stage edged with a running model train. 350 guests dined on savory Hors d'oeuvres and sampled local wines while they learned about train history and safety.

Trojan Explosion, Portland General Electric 2006
Over 1200 guests were invited to witness the demolition of the Trojan Cooling Tower. This 3-second event required months of detailed planning, security governance and safety plans negotiated with nine local, regional, national and federal agencies. Guests snacked on homemade pastries under huge canopies safely across the river, then provided the countdown at which the tower exploded and fell gracefully to one side as the sun rose.
